Spanish Village Art Center/Balboa Park

Discover San Diego’s coveted secret for art lovers at the Spanish Village Art Center (SVAC). Situated between the Zoo and the Natural History Museum in the heart of Balboa Park, the flowering bougainvilleas and multi-colored cobblestones escort you into the Villages center courtyard. There you will enjoy artwork of over 200 artisans and craftspeople showcasing their work in and about 37 colorful working artist studios and galleries.  The Patio of the SVAC is both a charming and historic event venue. Your guests can enjoy a night under the stars in our beautifully lit patio. This venue can accommodate upwards of 500 guests and can be featured for a wedding, corporate, or any other sort of special event!

 

Mingei International Museum

Mingei International Museum is located in the west end of historic Balboa Park, on the Plaza de Panama. The Museum features dynamic, changing exhibitions of folk art, craft and design from all cultures of the world, displayed throughout six beautiful galleries. The Mingei provides a a wide verity of unique locations to rent for an event, from the museum to the balconies overlooking the Plaza de Panama, to an intimate Garden Courtyard.

San Diego Museum of Us

The Museum of Us is the ideal space for your next special event. Set your sights on the landmark California Building, with its majestic tower and tiled dome. Your guests can assemble among the distinctive exhibits of the spacious Museum Rotunda and second-floor mezzanines. The Museum of Us has two additional unique spaces: the Saint Francis Chapel (100-year-old Spanish Chapel — an unexpected jewel in our iconic setting) and the California Tower (perfect for proposals with the idyllic backdrop and romantic views of San Diego and beyond).

Natural History Museum

The San Diego Natural History Museum is located in beautiful Balboa Park, just minutes from downtown, and offers a unique and memorable venue for any event. San Diego Air & Space Museum

Located in Balboa Park, the San Diego Air & Space Museum is perfect for a unique and historic venue space. Surrounded by some of history’s greatest planes and an art deco architecture, this space is truly one-of-a-kind for your event. Events at the Air and Space Museum also offer: Surround Sound, Stage and Audio Visual available, Interactive and Simulator Rides and Docent Tours of the Museum.

Quartyard

San Diego Central Library

Located in the Downtown area, the San Diego Central Library opened its doors in 2013, making it one of San Diego’s newest libraries and architectural marvels. Designed by the architect Rob Quigley, the San Diego Central Library is nine stories tall with an iconic steel-and-mesh lattice dome roof. The San Diego Central library also houses the IDEA lab, an art gallery, a two-story rare book section, and the second largest collection of baseball memorabilia in the world. Port Pavilion

Waterfront Park

Have a splash! Welcoming residents and visitors alike, the newly constructed Waterfront Park is the most significant waterfront open space in downtown San Diego.

The existing historic landscape and landmark County building form the park’s center, while an interactive splash fountain extends from the building and into the park defining a large civic green. Kids enjoy having a splash, while cooling off on warm days.

The park also features intimate garden rooms with distinct themes, a vibrant children’s play zone, and several picnic areas.

The Waterfront Park’s diverse spaces can accommodate public and private special events of various sizes, festivals, farmers markets, and active or relaxed family recreation. It’s also an ideal venue for a bayside wedding in downtown San Diego.

El Cortez Don Room and Terrace

Nestled atop San Diego’s prestigious Cortez Hill, the Don Room at El Cortez opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1927 and has become a carefully restored landmark for San Diego’s finest events for nearly 100 years. The classic and stunningly beautiful octagon shaped Don Room with 24k gold leafed ceiling, is an ideal setting for events and flexible to host any format. Adjoining the Don Room is a 10,000 square foot outdoor Terrace. The area comes alive with exquisite lighting, and our first class bar service offers drinks to delight and warm the spirits.
